CSS was selected to implement the automation of the newly installed Dedust plant. The purpose of the Dedust plant is to collect dust from the High Carbon Crushing and Screening plant and to handle the disposal of the dust. The scope included using the existing premium PLC that controls the High Carbon Crushing and Screening plant and add an addition rack to it to compensate for the additional I/O for the Dedust plant. Assmang requested that the implementation of the Dedust plant be done on their new standards. Thus causing a challenge, as the High Carbon Crushing and Screening program was based on the old Assmang standard. Therefore we needed to upgrade the old control for the High Carbon Crushing and Screening to the new standards and add the addition control for the Dedust plant.
The solution that was implemented included adding addition objects to Assmang's Wonderware Application Server 3.0 in conjunction with Schneider's premium PLC and a touch panel PC with a managed Wonderware InTouch 10.0 application.
