Formally known as Caltex Oil, Chevron entrusted CSS to do a complete Batching System Upgrade at their blending facilities in Island View Durban.
The project scope included to install a complete new process network infrastructure with server and clients. The existing InBatch system was upgraded to the latest version of InBatch. During this period the associated InTouch SCADA and InSQL systems were also upgraded.
The PC to Quantum PLC Communications were changed over from Modbus Plus to Ethernet TCP/IP freeing the Modbus Plus to be used for inter PLC communications alone.
The Changeover was done during a small plant shutdown and re-commissioned successfully.
