Client : Lucite International
Duration : 2 Months
Budget : R400,000
Lucite International manufactures Perspex Sheeting for a wide range of industries. And have embarked on a project to upgrade their cast plant one control system. The project was called the fish tail queuing project as the pouring method into the sheets was to change from Weight control to Flow meter integration control.
CSS was awarded the project and the scope included the supply, installation, programming and commissioning of a new control system that had to incorporate all the jacketed mixers with its exothermic controls.
The method of pouring was changed and new recipes created for the operators on the SCADA.
Following the commissioning operating the plant had become a lot more efficient and easier as now there is a single HMI interface with all the stand alone controllers becoming redundant.
